Hello and thank you for your interest.  I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and have been working with clients of all ages for over 15 years.  I believe that a comfortable and trusting therapeutic environment paves the way for you to identify and overcome the sources of difficulty and pain in your life.

My expertise is in the area of trauma. I’ve treated clients from all walks of life who have experienced trauma (medical and accident trauma; physical, mental and sexual abuse or assault; community violence; bullying; early childhood trauma; traumatic grief, and others). While a traumatic event - or events - can be coped with for a time, the effects of these experiences often return later. This is usually unexpected, overwhelming and unlike other depression and anxiety symptoms. This requires experienced care. In therapy, each client’s treatment plan is different, and this is especially true for PTSD and trauma-related disorders.

The model a therapist uses might be specific to the issue. However, the most important part of this process is the unique and trusting therapeutic relationship that is established. The overarching goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental, confidential, and supportive space for healing.

Therapeutic Models Used: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solutions-Focused, Solutions-Focused/Brief-Dynamic, traditional psychotherapy and psychodynamic models.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Western Carolina University), Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Stetson University)
